Adventuring to Dallas

Adele and I hit the road yesterday for a long-overdue road trip to Dallas to meet the newest member of the Fogel family... baby Zane! It was also great timing in that it coincided with Ryan's second birthday! It was so much fun and Adele was such a great traveler. I was very impressed with her patience, actually... 3 hours to get there and 3 and a half hours back and she was still in a pretty good mood.
On to the photos!

Mama and baby Z... pretty sure Jenny was laughing here, probably at my mad photo skilllzzz. Or lack thereof. (Can we schedule a tutorial session, please, ma'am?)

Ryan contemplates her phone and wonders why people just won't stop calling already. Well, when it's your birthday, people call!

Zane liked his "Z" quilt, we're pretty sure.

Adele liked Zane VERY much.

So much so that she decided to poke him in the eye and then roll him. Like so.

Bully

Hopefully Zane will forgive the attack and we can visit them again soon. Thank you, lovely Fogels! We had a wonderful time.

You are what you wear

I may have mentioned a time or two that G is very into dressing herself. And as long as she isn't trying to wear a bathing suit in December, I pretty much let her wear whatever she picks out. Though sometimes it's stripes with stripes, sometimes she comes out in something completely sassy. Case in point:

She picked this out for school one day last week, so we had a mini-Sartorialist-esque photo shoot in the living room. I was most impressed with her poses.

Especially this one.

Scenes from the Weekend

I think we're all still recovering from our weekend. Nona and Papa came to visit from Colorado and we had a great time; this included a weekend visit to the Hyatt Lost Pines, which was just beautiful. Unfortunately for us, the weather didn't really cooperate for us to fully enjoy the outdoor aspects of the venue (mainly swimming) but we had a great time just the same. A weekend in photos:

not sure what this is about.

Georgia plays soccer. I assure you that this skill doesn't come from me.

Weekend Scenes

While everyone else in Austin was at ACL Fest, we stayed low key at home, recovering from the flu. We did some baking (banana chocolate chip muffins):

Adele learned the sign for "more:"

Then Mrs. Arugula made a special appearance. And had a dance party.

Have I mentioned yet that she dresses herself everyday? I figure as long as she's dressed weather-appropriately, I won't worry about it.
